I am starting to get lazy.. So far the only exercise I have done is the 5 km run on Monday. Was intending to swim yesterday, but found that I didn't bring my goggles only when I was changing out of my work clothes in the changing room.
That was after I paid for the entrance and for the locker! Ahh!
I ended up eating Burger King with Mother and Sister. Great.

Meet Mr. Coke.

Hello everyone! Meet Mr. Coke. He's my favourite teddy bear. I collect bears, by the way, if you were wondering. Mr. Coke was given free when we bought a popcorn combo in Shaw Lido when I was ten. He has been with me since then =)
If you are observant enough, you would definitely realise that he has a Coca Cola bow-tie, hence his name. He's the favourite because.. well, I just like him. Hahas.. I guess it can be considered a gift from Mother since she was the person who bought the popcorn combo.
He's also the only teddy allowed out of the dust bags. Somehow Mother has a weird aversion towards soft toys because they "store dust". All my bears are hidden in a bag on my bed. Which really defeats the purpose of having them in the first place eh?

Anyways, I'm sure you would have seen him around before. He was in one of my previous blog skins. And I think I have posted random shots of him. Hahas..
Did you know that he is also an RI boy? He has the badge right on his singlet which says:
"And He shall give His angels charge over you in all your ways" Ps 91:11
Actually I am really just trying to cheer myself up. Mum just said not to go to Taiwan. And suddenly the only thing that is keeping me up lately comes to naught. Sigh.
Snap snap, blink blink.
I was feeling really lazy yesterday and decided to collapse at home playing SF4. Hahas.. I am left with Cammy, Fei Long, Akuma, Gouken and Seth. =/ And the thing is I can't really play much cos my brother is having his examinations and I don't want him to blame me for not being able to study. Sometimes I don't really know what he thinks. Haha.
Anyways, I have new wants! At least these are within reach..

Progress!
I went running just now, and I managed to do 10 laps in the same 30 minutes! The feeling is very different from last week. I felt much more energetic and very much less breathless as compared to last Monday. Woot! Feels good to see some improvement in my fitness.
I managed to cut about 1.6 minutes away from 2.4km timing. That's very good! =) It's just 14.4 minutes now. The actual timing I reached 2.4km was 14 min 20 s. Good enough for now.
The disappointing thing is that the weight doesn't seem to be coming off. I'm still at 83kg =/
Tummy disappear leh!

Vroom vroom!
Dream.. Dream dream dream oh dream...
Hmm.. I got asked a very tough question a minute ago regarding what I want.
It's tough because I want things I cannot get!
It's tough because I want things I cannot get!
- A Honda Jazz
- Louis Vuitton Damier Graphite Jorn
OR
Mulberry Eliot Holdall in Blue - 17" MacBook Pro
- iPhone!
- My very own Bracsa II Paddle!
- Win 4D (at least $10k)
- Chopin's Fantasie Impromptu Music Sheet.
- Miraculously lose 10 kg!
Wah... okay. I can't think of anything anymore. Hmm.. Oh wells, ultimately, the most important thing is to be happy right? I don't need any of those things. It's so much better to have a nice meal and chat and while our time away before we all grow too old. Haha..

Unsaid.
I resent the fact that there are some things that I cannot write on my blog. This issue seems to crop up ever so often and disappear soon after.
Yet it is probably a crucial point: why bother to have a blog when you cannot write what you truly feel?

Lagoon.
Guess what I found when I got to work today?
Yay! I didn't even know a lagoon existed. Haha.
8:00am
I checked my trap and found that I had caught a mouse! I caught a 7 oz. Fairy mouse from the Great Gnarled Tree worth 5,769 points and 937 gold.
The mouse also dropped the following loot:1 map of the lagoon.
My weapon was very effective against this mouse.
Yay! I didn't even know a lagoon existed. Haha.

Gym Aunties.
To all aunties out there who happen to go to the public gym,
I laud you for your effort to upkeep your health and self. HOWEVER! Can don't chat on the machine anot? When you are obviously not using it, it's only courteous to vacate the place so that the person standing right in front of you and staring at you can use it! Man!
Yes, I went to the gym today! Did mainly shoulders and abs. I now ache like a head. Hahas..

Regaining ground.
I have been feeling a sense of disconnect with others lately. It seems like I have been chasing my own idealistic dreams so much that I have neglected the friends around me.
I went back for kayaking training on Saturday, and there was this weird sensation of being out of place. This J2 said hello to me and said she has never seen me before, which was natural of course, since I haven't been back since Army 1 and a little bit in Army 2. But somehow it made me think of how I managed to lose that part of me so easily.
It's high time I consolidated and go back to what I want to do instead of chasing ephemeral illusions. I need to find myself again.

Flattened tyres and a dynamo thigh.
I always feel better after a swim =) Endorphins! Serotonin!
Nothing beats a competition with the person next to me in the lane. Hahahas. This time it was a girl. Turns out she was practising at the SAFRA pool with a coach. She swam one lap with only 5 strokes!! Woah. I was stunned. And I kicked harder as a result. LOL!
I feel fatter though.. =/
Anyways, 笑傲江湖 is getting more interesting. The cheong fox is sent up to Jade Virgin Peak because he said nuns are suay folks. There he sees the name of the man who is going to teach him the Nine Swords of Loneliness. So exciting! Now I know why people like to read Wu Xia.
Oh, I more or less made up my mind. I will just not continue the contract. One must not sell his soul for money. Hahas. Now really. How should I break it to my boss?

Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.
Yes? No? Maybe?
It's coming to the start of May soon, and I am still struggling with whether to stop working.
On one hand, this is a rather meaningful job with nice people to work with. Not to mention the fact that the pay is good. I would miss the money coming in, what with my humongous expenses each week =/
On the other hand, I feel bad that I am not doing much work. I typically finish my work before lunch and spend the rest of the day trying to while time away. Plus the fact that I am actually giving up the time that can be spent at home, or swimming, or running or reading or going kayaking =/
Something's got to give eh? Haiz.

Avoid evil cheap law.
I have taken to reading Chinese Wu Xia books lately and I am currently reading Xiao Ao Jiang Hu, roughly translated as Laughing Proudly throughout the Pugilistic World. It will probably help me in translating better on Sundays. Hahas..
The fact of the matter is, I used to think that real life was like the characters in The Condor Heroes. Righteousness, loyalty, romance, all rolled into an exciting storyline. And you'll get to learn cool kungfu moves at the same time!
Turns out, life's rather boring in real life =/
I am still thinking of how I can quit properly. Pfft.

Anew?
I have been trying to come up with a new layout because this blue is starting to irk me. But the blogger xml codes are so confusing!! My brain is melting in trying to get the site to render correctly. Argh!

Holding on to
Sand slipping past my fingers

Months on, the stone still sits right in front of me. It no longer looks like a heart to me. The red lost to a surer purple gray. What a difference a few months make!
Time is a cruel master. What lengths we go to for more time, more precious moments to create with the ones we love. When it runs out, one is left with the feeling of wanting. Wanting more. More of that light, that warmth one once felt. That smile, that enthusiasm, that spirit.
So short.
What is death? I was thinking about this my hair was dyed by a spinning heating saucer. It is naught. Though we can no longer feel the closeness of those who have left the world, their impact resounds. They live forever in the children. They live forever in our minds. I am beginning to get an understanding of this. One never truly leaves.
Our true purpose is not to live forever, to be great, even to be good. Our true purpose is to leave footprints. To impact others for good. To live a life that has made a difference. To cause others to follow your movement, your cause.
RQ, we will never forget you. And you will live forever in our hearts. Even the tides of time will not be able to wash away what you have taught me - to be the best that I can be, to do the best that we can do.
And now I suddenly have a new comprehension of immortality.

Treasure.
This is one of the few Saturdays that I actually have time to sit down in front my computer to type out a blog entry. It so refreshing to have nothing planned =)
Anyways, I met up with Chee Wee, Zhimin, Chio and Prabhu yesterday for a nice dinner at The .Indulge before we headed for TCC for more coffee shop talk.
It has been so long since we last met! It's interesting to listen to Chee Wee's relationship exploits. Hahas. Hmm.. funny how we are more or less the same eh? I got reminded of the attachments we had at 21SA and 42SAR where he was talking about very much the same thing. LOL! Interesting, interesting.
It seems like everyone more or less has a vision of where they are going forward into with Zhimin taking up an internship at Fullerton and Chee Wee starting school in May. For me, it still feels so far away. LIKE AUGUST! And I really have not much of an idea what to expect from university.
I guess I am just very much a free spirit who takes things as they come rather than over-plan and over-think. Woah, I met this guy at the SPRING Assessment who was saying that he was playing to open an IT consultancy, switch his current course to business, blah blah blah, and it reminded me of this story I read..
THE PARABLE OF THE RICH FOOL
The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, "What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops." Then he said, "This is what I'll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I'll say to myself, 'You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry'".
But God said to him, "You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?"
Again, what will I do with my life?
